About Cuisine Rouge

Welcome to Cuisine Rouge, a restaurant and food blog based in the Baton Rouge metro area.  Here you will find reviews of the many eateries in our fine city and the surrounding areas, as well as general commentary on the area dining scene.  We welcome your suggestions and feedback, with the hope of providing folks with some insight on where to find great food.  We are focused on promoting local establishments and giving people alternatives to the big chains around the city.  You'll often find better food at better prices if you just explore the lesser known places!

The Cuisine Rouge Team

Chad:

The genius who came up with the original concept. He's the one who thought, "Baton Rouge needs a site to promote the local culinary scene. There are just too many good, locally owned restaurants that fly under the radar. Baton Rouge's reputation as a 'Chain Town' needs to be repaired."  Having lived and travelled all over the country, he has sampled quite a bit of great tasting food of all cuisines.

Ginger:

Being lucky enough to be married to the site founder, she also has the privilege of accompanying him on his many culinary ventures.  She brings a much needed feminine voice to the site providing insight into things men just don't understand, like quiche, salad, and sparkling wines. She's also a talented writer and designer, responsible for Cuisine Rouge's new look. Her posts don't just provide simple reviews, but allow the reader to experience the restaurant right along with her.

Ginger is also an aspiring cake designer. You can check out her creations at www.gingerlycreated.com.

Cuisine Rouge Contributors

MARK:

Just another face in the crowd, who fancies himself a "foodie." His outgoing, friendly, and fearless demeanor have unlocked the doors to the kitchen, and with his help, the site got to where it is today. He's actually a native of New Orleans, and with a family history of fine dining in his hometown and across the United States, he's got an interesting insight to the culinary culture.

Wesley:

He grew up eating many different ethnic foods, and is not afraid to put new things in his mouth (TWSS). His favorite dishes usually involve curry or habaneros.  He's a frequent contributor who is always on the lookout for best (and hottest) new foods in town.
